This is a great car-camping recipe that doesn't require a ton of prep time or work and tastes great.

I received an unexpected gift this year during the Holidays. It took me a while to test it out sufficiently enough to warrant a review, but I'll get to that later. I don't think my difficulties were gear-related, just an unfortunate coincidence. Once I got past the network difficulties (I use T-Mobile as my provider), the software and GPS merged nicely on my Blackberry Curve 8320 for a great driving experience.

Continuing through the 10 activities for winter, I have started researching new gear to purchase. I have to admit though, the gear I am looking at is not what I originally had in mind.

Here's a breakfast menu item that's sure to please, and isn't as daring an outback meal as one might think: Flapjacks!
Also known as pancakes, for obvious reasons, this crowd pleaser can be a simple campfire breakfast, with a little preparation. You'll need:

This past summer I went on my annual trip to the local Cabelas® superstore for some needed updates to my hunting apparel. One of the items on my shopping list was a new pair of boots. I most recently had a pair of Rocky® boots that lasted me about ten years, but they needed to be replaced and I wanted to upgrade the insulation.

National System of Public Lands |

The Secretary of the Interior, Dirk Kempthorne, signed an order today officially naming the 258 million acres of land managed for multiple use by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) the "National System of Public Lands". The BLM also indicated that changing signage and designation would occur over a lengthy period of time to minimize associated costs. The official designation is intended in part to make the public more aware of the lands that belong to them. As most of the land managed by the BLM exists in the west, this may be more of an issue in the mid-west and eastern states. To read more, visit the Department of Interior official release here.
